"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help.

There was a great teacher somewhere in your life."

- Barack Obama.

People around the world celebrated World Teachers’ Day to honor the profession and highlight the teacher’s role in communities. The Philippine government goes a step further through Presidential Proclamation No. 242 series of 2011 declaring the period from September 5 to October 5 of every year as National Teachers’ Month, as well as Republic Act No. 10743 declaring the fifth day of October of every year as National Teachers’ Day. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) designated every 5th of October as World Teachers’ Day. This year’s National Teachers’ Month followed the theme “Gurong Pilipino: Dangal ng Sambayanang Pilipino (Filipino Teachers: Pride of the Filipino Nation).” The first ever in-person Teacher’s Day celebration at Edustria High School was recently conducted with teachers, staff and students honoring those who make all other professions possible. Some Edustria staff and students stood in as substitute teachers to give a much-needed respite to the Edustria faculty. Weeks before the event, the students prepared activities and surprises to show how much they appreciate their teachers. Edustria High School stands firm with our teachers and we celebrate the critical role of teachers in transforming learners’ potential by ensuring they have the tools they need to take responsibility for themselves, for others, and for the world they live in.
