The English Month is a yearly event that is celebrated in many schools around the world. It features various contests and learning activities each day. The students are encouraged to speak in English with their peers and teachers as often as possible. This event aims to make the students more confident in speaking English, so they can become better communicators.
As part of the celebration this year, there are competitions such as speech and storytelling contests. Most notably, the Speech Choir competition required a number of student-participants to speak in unison regarding a given topic while standing up in front of an audience. Edustria High School promotes competitions such as these not just to encourage achievement, but more importantly, the culture and opportunities for learning they bring. Perseverance, grit and determination are just a few of the character traits that competitions promote. Edustria High School teachers and staff hope to adhere to these traits and lead by example for the students and the whole community to emulate.
